US Wealth Manager Opens Second European Office

The New York-headquartered wealth manager Highmount Capital has opened a new office in Zurich, its second in Europe, as part of moves to broaden its multi-family office services across the continent. Two new partners George Schlagmüller and Thomas von Rohr have joined the firm from Julius Baer to head up the new office. While at the Swiss private bank they had advised Highmount clients for eight years. Schlagmüller was with Julius Baer from 2000, however he started his career with the bank in 1987. Before rejoining Julius Baer he spent time at UBS as a portfolio manager and relationship manager and at Goldman Sachs as a sales trader. Rohr began his career at Banca Commerciale Italiana, going on to join Julius Baer as an equity analyst in 1999. He became a relationship manager in 2005.
